Harry and I took a drive down the M5 to a Fort Whyte Centre like wetlands just off the False Bay. For under a dollar we both gained entrance and enjoyed over an hour walk through wetlands, fabulous flora and fauna. Apparently there are two hippos onsite but all we saw was a trampled pathway and a big load of droppings. We did see some wildlife besides the hundreds of birds including a massive snail, a fist sized crab and a turtle. It was drizzling on and off and we were the only ones in the reserve besides some noisy staff who we enjoyed a short chat (and they scared the birds off).
We had to go get Katy after her junior choir practice and then went to get Henry. He informed us that he “made” the choir at Rondebosch as well. Grandpa will be proud!
