Monday morning, it is Heritage Day (as well as National Braii Day). Mom and Dad survived the first few days here and are on childcare duty for an hour while we finish some work. McDonald's for breakfast is an easy way to pass the time. On Saturday we made a short trip to Simon's Town for supper, saw whales (a whole lot of them) on the way, hit the Aquarium to see some sharks being fed and watched a jazz concert at the outdoor amphiteather while dining. It's great to have them here.
Carla had a great conference in Kenya last week. I seemed to survive the week with the kids as well. The rugby windup helped, six big braii pits going full of good eats.
WE are planning on doing the major tourist visits during this week while the kids are out of school such as visiting Cape Point, Kirstenbosch, (did the waterfront yesterday), etc. Thanks to all those well wishes that were passed along and the cards and the zoat and the other gifts. They were well received and very much appreciated!
