NZ's South African Adventure

OK, just back from Wimpy burger and an avocado and salsa burger. Hmm good. We've spent most of the day at the Valley of the Waves, a giant wave and waterslide park. What fun! Harry puttered around in the sand with his Lightning McQueen and Mater cars, and the older two were up and down as many times as possible. Only when the waterspout signalled the waves to begin did we venture into the giant wave pool for a ten foot wave to ride fifty feet on. We are staying at the Kwena Chalets and crocodile farm so we have free entry into the viewing area. Today we watched the oldest croc, Footloose, in captivity getting fed. He is approximately 120 years and over five meters long. He is also one of the biggest Nile crocs in the world (the biggest one, Undertaker is also here).
Yesterday we said goodbye to Bakubung Lodge and had a final gamedrive seeing a baby hippo with its' mom as well as a giant kudu, and plenty of blue wildebeest. The elephant seemed to be elusive for us this week. We did see a pride of lions take a short run at some zebra the previous day which was very exciting. As well as about fifteen giraffe grazing. White rhino are also quite prevalent here. Pilanesberg is a great place.
