The nice weather is back for the time being, still feels cool with the breeze but the sun is hot. The week kind of flew by without much ado, but we feel like we're ready for the weekend.
We've visited Hout Bay and the World of Birds this morning, the largest of it's kind in Africa. We did see the very beautiful green turacao, (sp?) the same bird we saw in the wild at Tsitsikamma National Park. The kids loved the monkeys which we were allowed to be up close and personal. They jump on you and then try to look into your pockets for food or other things to play with. The birds were great and the variety was excellent. The kids got a huge kick out of the mynah birds and their vocabulary. We thought this would be a great outing for our Kgroup, but seeing the birds in a park is much different than seeing them in the wild.
In other news, we are looking into taking a train up to Joburg in August and then flying to Victoria Falls from there for a short holiday. That way we'd get to see much of SA in a nice train car instead of driving. This is not set in stone, but we are looking into it.
We've also got our flights booked for coming home in early December. I think we will be leaving on the 6th and arriving on the 7th in the evening with an overnight in Frankfurt. This allows me to get back to work for a little bit as well the kids can meet their friends at school before Christmas. Perhaps I'll be able to make the Christmas concerts for FLC...
Tonight Dan and Yvonne Nighswander and Marion and Ricardo are visiting for supper.
