Great weekend it was, but over too fast.
Saturday morning, Katy and I rushed out to Pick'n'Pay to retrieve the final installment of the Harry Potter series. We were expecting a hoarde of people, but we only met Heather from church in line to pick it up. Luckily there was a price war and they were selling it below cost. I think Katy is almost halfway through, since she was interupted in her reading by our trip on Sunday and a sleepover on Saturday night.
We had a very nice Saturday visiting a market downtown in Greenmarket Square, then over to get some hot Samoosas and to eat them at the waterfront with Marion and Ricardo. I've posted pictures. We ate and watched some Xhosa dancers, a fire thirsty lambada dancer and a clown. we also found these baby seals under the dock that runs the boats to Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned).
On Sunday after church we called on Crawford, a student from Princeton Theological Seminary who is doing an internship at Mowbray to visit Simon's Town with us. He was excited about the prospect of seeing whales. We didn't see any but did have a nice time and then a nice meal at Spur later on.
Happ 12th birthday to Mac, my first nephew on the 22nd!!! We would've loved to watch your baseball tourney this weekend.
Thanks to all those who are encouraging this blog...gives me a reason to keep posting our antics.
