No bingo's for the Ens family on Friday, but people we were sitting with won a Phillips Boombox. The hotdogs were good, they like to butter the bun first and everyone was drinking wine or beer in the school. That was also a difference for us. Booze at WMES? I think not. The attitude towards alcohol is much more relaxed in general, except for underage drinking. At least from what we can tell.
On Saturday, we ventured out in the warm sun to run some errands and later in the day I took Henry to his friend's birthday party out on Zeekovlei, right on the lake. This party was pretty good for the adults too, while the kids played, the parents watched the sold out rugby match with the 'Boks versus the Wallabies live from Newlands in Cape Town. The home team prevailed, Henry had a great time digging in the mud so the day went well.
Yesterday the kids had a sitter named Moira from church and Carla and I went off to Madam Zingara's for a Jimmy Dludlu concert. This was great and the venue was so neat. It was a great big tent full of mirrors, a Hungarian gypsy tent, one of only a handful left in the world. Usually there are circus acts with full course meals but last night was hotdogs and chips with our jazz. The music was great, I'll bring some Dludlu home with me for sure.
Today we will pick Katy up and head off to the book fair at the convention centre.
