Hey there!
Public workers strike set for Friday, June 1. That means the kids get a holiday. It will be a big strike... http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=2&ItemID=12927
The teachers are looking for a 12% increase while the offer is at 6%. Interesting that earlier this year the elected officials ok'd increases of over 50% for many of the ministers and leaders.
Katy has been selected to play on the under 9's hockey team and will play her first games on Saturday morning in Durbanville, northeast of us. That will be exciting. Will post pictures.
Harry and I headed up to Rhodes Memorial this morning to check out the Quagga, but they moved away from the back fence and we couldn't see them. The wildebeest were roaming around though and having a great time.
We visited the Kirstenbosch market on Sunday after church and found some interesting crafts. A radio made out of bottle caps...wine glass holders that you stick in the ground (perfect for picnics here) and pancakes which the kids enjoyed.
Until next time...keep looking up!
