NZ's South African Adventure

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Monica's gone - she's left on her 40 day overland journey across southern Africa...we wish her well. We had a great week together, visiting some of the popular spots around the Cape. We took a trip to Franschoek, to Clifton Beach, to the Waterfront for supper with Hannah (who is also now gone from here) and she took Henry and Katy up Table Mountain.
Ron and Connie are back. They had a wonderful week in Botswana, visiting their old stomping grounds. Grandpa has settled into a popular chair in our flat reading Berenstein Bears, etc to little H. He and grandma our very popular. We look forward to a great week with them before they go back to Winnipeg.
This weekend is a looong weekend; Friday is freedom Day, Monday is a school holiday and then Tuesday is also a public holiday (family day or something). We expect to visit a few places as well as take in some festivals.
This morning on the way back from dropping Henry off, Harrison went for a haircut, since dad had one yesterday in Parow. Henry has a field day today and is off to Simon's Town on the train with his class and then on a boat trip to see seals and penguins.
Stormers game this weekend and we are going to our first rugby match at Newlands Stadium. THe stormers are coming off a win over the top team in the league last week.
Tonight is the much anticipated cricket match with SA Proteas facing the Aussies in the semi finals of the cricket world cup. We expect the world to stop turning for five hours while they play tonight. Will keep you updated.
