It's the weekend again. The week seemed to take long to pass, as we are awaiting our trip home. It's been an eventful week as we have (tentatively) made a deal on the car..at least I have a deposit and his word this time. He's getting a better deal than originally planned since yesterday we were driving along a busy freeway and had a tyre explode. I first thought it was just a puncture, but upon further inspection, and a quick change of tyre on the side of the highway, I saw that the rim had come apart and shredded the tyre so that they both needed changing. Luckily the tyre shop found a used rim to match our other mag wheels and I put a new set of rubber in the back. So now the car drives better than it did with two baldies in the back.
Greg (brother) has had surgery back in Winkler on his foot, which was broken during a hockey practice. Let's send our best wishes to him as he looks at a few months of recovery.
Tomorrow is the big party for Henry. The forecast looks OK, better weather than we've had this week. The kids are excited to play in the pool, we have a makeshift Quiddich tournament, tube races, etc for the boys planned along with Mr. ROndi's cupcakes and tubesteaks and chips.
Cricket today, then pizza. We're excited to attend the Vusi concert at Kirstenbosch on Sunday evening (I'm planning a little surprise birthday for Carla - so nobody tell). We'll post back on Monday with the results. SOmebody post the scores or email me on Sunday so I can keep up with things...thanks for that. GO BOMBERS!

It's raining here today and that cancelled Katy's swim party/gala. Apparently it is quite late in the year for rain here, the climate is changing. No place was quite as apparent as when we were at the game parks. The animals are having their babies earlier the past few years, whereas in the past, the babies would only arrive at Christmas. The ranger said for sure that this was a sign of change.
Canada lost to South Africa in a soccer friendly last night, and we are ranked 30 spots higher than the SA team. I guess we could challenge them to a hockey game (ice).
I forgot to mention the airways woes here from a few weeks back. In the space of a week and a bit, one plane overshot the runway here in Cape Town, a few days later, a Nationwide plane lost an engine as it dropped on the runway on takeoff, and then later there was a different issue that I've already forgotten what it was. Luckily there were no injuries in any of them and that these things happen in threes.
I think I have a buyer for our car...keep your fingers crossed, as he is to bring me a deposit today.

It's getting time to be cleaning up. I took the recycling away this morning, so that's done. The books need to be taken to the used book store as well as little odds and ends that we don't need to bring home. Katy has carols tonight at school and Henry has his next week. It seems that things are coming fast and furious and then we'll be ready. 9 days left of school. Way to go Bombers, one more to go.
Henry will be singing a solo at the church CHristmas party on Dec 1, and Harry will be a pixie, bringing gifts to the blue hairs. He will be the hit I'm sure.
Ochi is over for supper, need to get the chicken ready.
