NZ's South African Adventure

Rain today...we'll have to pass on rugby or get sopping wet. Henry would like it, but the parents may not. Weekend calls for a trip to the waterfront, some movies tonight...laying low and relaxing, maybe a trip to Simon's Town to look for whales.

Harry and I made a short trip down the M5 highway this morning to visit Muizenburg and see what the status of the whale sightings have been. We were surprised to hear that there had been a mamma and a calf in the bay just 24 hours earlier. So we will keep our ears open.
Springboks lost to the AllBlacks on Saturday which is not unexpected...we sent a B team over. We're resting our best players for the world cup in August.
On Sunday we visited a market near the new 2010 soccer stadium...8 cranes working on the new venue. Apparently they are ahead of schedule which is unheard of.
Tomorrow night is a FIFA match at Newlands to commemorate Nelson Mandela's 89th birthday. It'll be a big deal with some all stars from SA vs rest of the world. Mandiba will be there in person.
