Mom and Dad are on their way home. The house felt very empty this morning. We missed Mom on the walk to school and Harry missed Grandpa and their visits with Mr. Rondi. We dropped my parents off at the airport last night and their flight left at 7:00. They should be home later this afternoon (Manitoba time). Our next visitor comes in less than three weeks when Christine will be met at the airport.
Katy has just left for a weekend away with a friend at Riebeek-Kasteel, north of Cape Town with a friend from church and her mom. We may head up there for a braai after we pick up Henry from his friend's birthday party. We haven't been up there before so that will be a treat. Maybe there are vineyards on the way that could be visited. It seems like the calendar is filling up with events and that soon enough it will be time for our flights...less than sixty days left.
We all went to watch Katy attend her first diving lesson yesterday at the Rustenburg pool. That was interesting. Henry will be starting cricket again next Friday as this week there were visiting teams playing at their field.
Yesterday I heard there were over 90 whales at Hermanus. Christine are you reading this? Have a good weekend.

A blustery day in the Cape. Mom and dad made it to the waterfront this morning to catch a "On and Off bus". This is a double decker open air bus that makes stops at various venues throughout town. It's a great way to see things that the city feels you should see. We're planning a supper at Harrie's Pancakes...it's amazing what they put in those crepes. Otherwise the kids are back in school, doing their homework and enjoying cricket in the late afternoons. We usually have a pickup game in the park with some neighbours.
We can't believe that mom and dad leave in two days. THat is sad. The good thing is that Chris is getting ready to come out on the 31st and after that, we're home in three weeks. We're excited to be back in Winnipeg and back to more normalcy.
Springboks pulled off a win (albeit sloppy) against the Fijians, the All Blacks from New Zealand and the Wallabies from down under both lost so we play Argentina in the semis on the weekend. England vs France in the other. Should be an exciting finish!
